Comment:

 I'm going to leave this ticket open because i still need to go back
 through all of the comments and file some tickets, etc.  There are some
 problems that I know about, but they are relatively minor for the most
 part.   I'll close this ticket when I have tickets filed for all of the
 actual problems discovered.
