My apologies for some confusion I've introduced over the test server
(in an attempt to make it useful for both parts A & B).

To hopefully help with this, I've turned on a "pure echo" server on
jaguar.icir.org, port 7.  It sends back whatever you send it with no
processing whatsoever, and it doesn't care about CRLFs or anything like
that.  (Like the other test server, it does not close the connection, but
waits for the client to do that.)

In addition, this week's discussion sections are covering "Wireshark"
and other tools for monitoring network traffic.  You will find these
invaluable for debugging just what's going on with your clients and
servers, as they allow you to see precisely what packets (and payloads)
are sent over the network.
