[ee122] ilinux3 problems

I cannot seem to run anything on ilinux3.  I am connecting to
ilinux3.eecs.berkeley.edu through ssh.  I then go into my project
folder and I can't seem to run anything.

i type http_server.out 5678
and it says http_server.out: Command no found.

I tried recompiling it

gcc -o http_server.out http_server.c -lsocket -lnsl

but then it says
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lsocket

any help?
