From webreg at centurylink.net Sun Feb 3 08:35:35 2013 From: webreg at centurylink.net (Christopher Andrews) Date: Sun, 3 Feb 2013 11:35:35 -0500 Subject: [Netalyzr] Are some ISP's blocking access? Message-ID: Hello, I have been using the Netalyzer utility for several months now running one analysis per month. The last couple months it has been more complicated to connect to, and yesterday morning I could not connect to the url to retrieve the analysis summary after running the command line utility. I downloaded and ran the CLU because I could not get the web based tool to run at all. This was probably due to the java fiasco that occurred over the past couple weeks. Questions: 1. Does anyone know of any issues where an ISP has been blocking access to the netalyzr tool? 2. Would it be possible for someone to retrieve my summary, copy/paste it into a text file and shoot it to my email? Message-ID: <51146E1F.5000907@icir.org> Hi Netalyzr users, As you may have noticed we recently rolled out a round of updates to Netalyzr, including an update to our questionnaire. We now present the questionnaire while the tests progress, and then again at the bottom of the results. We have received a few reports indicating that the transition from the end of the tests to the results page did not work correctly, and we're wondering whether this might relate to Internet Explorer. If there are any IE users among you, could you confirm whether things work correctly for you or not, and what version you're using? Thanks! -C. Windows 7 ultimate x64 Tested on IE 9: 9.0.8112.16421 64-bit Update Version: 9.0.12 (KB2761465) Java add-on: 7.0.13020 Haven't tested in other browsers and CLI yet, but on an IE8 on Windows 7 enterprise x64 and java 6.x didn't work either. I'll get the details later. They have an older XP pro and a new Windows 7 PC with Verizon DSL and a security service using a proxy server. I have used netalyzr successfully on similar configs in tthe past. This time on the Win7 PC w/IE9 netalyzr runs slowly and keeps looping back to the same point without uploading any data. Should I be using a different browser? Is there a way I can determine whether the proxy server is at fault? Thanks for any advice you can provide. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... IT does work OK in all other browsers.
