Right now I am reading "Learning Python", 2nd edition, by Mark Lutz
and David Ascher, but I am still n the very beginning of it to give
you any definite opinion. So far my impression is same as one of the
book's reviews that "[it] only covers the basics, but it is deep in
information of what it does cover".
The reason I bought it is primarily because of the detailed coverage
of the basic stuff, with the clear understanding that I will buy
1-2 more books for the advanced stuff.

If you are serious about Python, I think you would need "Python in a
Nutshell" anyway because it is very good even as a reference book.
Probably it will be the next book I will buy after I finish reading
"Learning Python".

You can check http://www.python.org/doc/ for a list of all Python
books and for detailed reviews.
