Freed heap memory is accessed, further use of this could result in C++ heap corruption. Preallocate 256 file descriptor slots (Node) in the constructor for the std::vector SelectorList::_selector_entries. 256 is chosen to be conservative (most processes won't be using this many). This is not the right fix, this is purely a temporary workaround for the problem, and it does waste memory: (((sizeof(int)) + (sizeof(int)) + (sizeof(int)) + ((sizeof(int) + sizeof(int) + sizeof(void *) + sizeof(void *))) * 3) * 256 ==> 21504 bytes on the IA32 architecture, for each SelectorList instance. The debugging portion of the patch has been omitted from this commit, as a partial rewrite is probably called for (although the type initializer stuff is a really good idea). These variables take a system tripple or system alias, just like the --host and --build command line options of a GNU configure script. The host and build system tripples are broken down further into cpu, vendor, and OS; for use throughout the build and configuration infrastructure. Remove "rel" command line variable, as it was only used as a suffix for the build directory. While I could have written our own SCons/python code to guess the build system and to canonicalize system tripples; instead I've added the most current versions of GNU config.guess and config.sub scripts and have the SConstruct call them. This ensures the results will be the same as other packages that use the GNU Build System. This may be something we want to revisit.
