I had similar issues with VRRP on 1.6 and linux. I basically 
gave up and used a standalone vrrp daemon (vrrpd) "under" xorp
for VRRP functionality. That seems to be working fine.

As an aside I can't even begin the build of the SVN version, 
the scons doesn't seem to be working on CentOS 5.4

Anyone have a clue on what I am missing?
