Ben,
I tried to compile the same to X86 also . It is giving me the same problem . 
I have taken the source from : https://github.com/greearb/xorp.ct 
gcc version :  4.8.2

Maybe part of the cross-compile didn't go well.

You might have to dig into the code a bit to figure out what it is complaining about.
