[Xorp-users] pimsm-RP placement

May I place multicast clients behind the pimsm RP (rendezvous point) 
or should the RP be a separate router (with no multicast clients
connected directly) ?

ie. is it a valid configuration?

[hostA]---[routerA]---[routerB=RP]---[hostB]

where
  rouerA, routerB are pimsm routers and routerB is the RP
  hostA, hostB are multicast clients.

Or shall I put the RP to a separate device to which no multicast
client is connected directly:

[hostA]---[routerA]---[routerC=RP]---[routerB]---[hostB]

where
  rouerA, routerB, routerC are pimsm routers and routerC is the RP
  hostA, hostB are multicast clients.
