BTW, did you use Windows to dowload and/or uncompress the XORP
tarball?
A quick search revealed the following URL where someone had exactly
same problem (different software though) that was caused by
corrupted package after using Windows to uncompress it:

If you did something similar, please use UNIX box to download and
uncompress/untar again the XORP tarball.
