I guess you are running the latest code from anon. CVS.
Accidentally this morning I found exactly same problem,
so I am working on it right now.
FYI, the problem is in the ./configure mechanism that
discovers whether multicast routing is supported.
Few days ago I probably broke it for older Linux kernels while
trying to get it working for the latest 2.6.26 kernel.
