That's correct, it's a workaround for multicast end-stations which have 
not yet obtained IP addresses. It went away in MLDv2/v3 because 
link-local IPv6 addresses MUST be used for MLD traffic.

Once again: can you please tell us which operating system, version of 
XORP, etc you are using?

I don't see anything obviously wrong with your configuration file, 
although your robustness variable is set to 5, which is quite high: is 
this intentional, i.e. is it a very lossy network medium?

Please don't send RFCs as attachments to the list.
