P.S. It is very likely that cross-builds will be left broken in the 
first SCons spin. We'll be relying on community participation to fix 
them, until cross-builds catch up in the work plan (after refactoring).

Please bear with the branch as it is migrated to SCons -- once it 
re-opens. I am currently working on fixing the install targets to match 
up with what's in shipping distributions at the moment.

After that, I will probably not do any further work on restoring the 
regression tests in the SCons build. JT says he's moved them into their 
own directories, so I'd prefer we pick up on that, before the big Boost 
+ Thrift hammer comes out.
