[Xorp-users] BGP settings

This is a bit of a misuse of the mailing list, but due to the lack of any faster options, I am obliged to direct my question here. When setting up the bgp protocol peers section, in general (not just limited to XORP configuration), should the local-ip be the same as the BGP ID, or can it be just about any IP address that has been configured on my router? I found the explanation on the xorp manual to be a bit unclear on this point. Thanks.

I create them outside of xorp, and that works, at least.
