The appropriate PIM hooks should be enabled automatically in FreeBSD 
kernel compiles since at least FreeBSD 4.6, however, MROUTING itself may 
not be enabled.

A failure with MRT_INIT usually suggests that the kernel was compiled 
without multicast forwarding support, or it was not loaded as a kernel 
module; please refer to my other reply.
