Hello users,

I am playing with xorp 1.8.3 pim-sm ipv4, trying to figure out how
pim-sm protocol is working.

I have host computer (10.0.0.1) , directly connected to pim-sm router
which is directly connected to another router (the Rendezvous Point
router).

The host is sending multicast udp packet (directed to mc address
224.5.6.7) to his directly connected router, but NO pim register message
is sent toward the RP .

Attached the following log fragment, regarding the event of the
multicast packet caption by the near pim-sm router:

It seems that something is wrong, the MFC entry is deleted very near
after the creation.
I suppose that after the RX NOCACHE signal there should be RX WHOLEPKT
signal which triggers the pim register message.

My xorp configuration files are just standard from the "getting started
manual", I am using openSUSE 11.4 with linux 2.6.37.1 kernel (No lack
with openSUSE 11.1 either).

Can anyone enlighten what happens ?

Best Regards,

Oren
