[Xorp-users] regarding pimreg interface creation delay

Hi All,

We are observing significant delay when interfaces are configured in XORP
for multicast forwarding setup.

Please correct me if i am wrong, on behalf of xorp, pimreg interface
creation is done in linux .

until pimreg is up and succesfull, further commands in XORP and multicast
traffic forwarding will not work.

Some times , it is taking from 3 seconds to 15 to 30 seconds delay.

Any reason behind this ? Is it a linux kernel implementation consuming or
XORP pushing ?

Can you please give an insight of this ?
