Message-ID: <546513A7.8040803@candelatech.com> I had need to get RIP and RIPng working properly, and just pushed a bunch of changes that fixes issues I saw in my setup. So, if you are interested in using RIP, you might give it a try. I also updated the RIP wiki page with a rip + ripng example towards the bottom of this page: http://xorp.run.montefiore.ulg.ac.be/latex2wiki/user_manual/rip_and_ripng Thanks, Ben -- Ben Greear Candela Technologies Inc http://www.candelatech.com From wei.wen0 at gmail.com Mon Nov 24 11:04:38 2014 From: wei.wen0 at gmail.com (Wei Wen) Date: Mon, 24 Nov 2014 14:04:38 -0500 Subject: [Xorp-users] XORP installation and xorp_rtrmgr Message-ID: Hello, I am new to XORP. I installed it on my ubuntu machine. I followed the installation steps and think I installed it successfully. However, I don't find a directory and file called "installdir/etc/xorp/xorp.config. So I tried to create a xorp.config file myself using the simplest example in XORP's online getting started guide, and put it in the /usr/etc/ directory. There was no such a directory before. Even after this, xorp_rtrmgr still didn't work. It complained about a few things. But I don't know how to fulfill these. The following is a list of the errors: ERROR: Failed chown on path: /var/tmp/xrl.UNKsHs error: operation not permitted ERROR: Failed chown on path: /var/tmp/xrl.7ejB0F error: operation not permitted rtrmgr shutting down due to an init error: PARSE ERROR [config File /usr/etc/xorp.config, line 1: No template found in template map; Last symbol pased was "protocol" I do not have the /var/tmp... directory and those files, and I don't know why it was complaining about them. In addition, I did not have the /usr/etc directory and xorp.config file. I added them. For the xorp.config file, I copied the configuration from XORP's getting started document, and it is the simplest one that I copied. Could anyone please help me? Thank you very much.
