Hello xorp-users,
I am doing some tests on Linux and noticed that if I remove an interface
from XORP the interface IP address is remvoed. Is there a way to bypass
this and leave the IP address configured?

Regards,
Anca

before deleting:
# ifconfig eth1
eth1      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:0C:29:B1:E8:12
          inet addr:192.168.121.1  Bcast:192.168.121.255  Mask:255.255.255.0
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:9155 errors:0 dropped:586 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:15125 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:763573 (745.6 KiB)  TX bytes:1233015 (1.1 MiB)
          Interrupt:18 Base address:0x1400

root at oAN# delete interfaces interface eth1
Deleting:
    eth1 {
        vif eth1 {
            address 192.168.121.1 {
                prefix-length: 24
                broadcast: 192.168.121.255
            }
        }
    }

OK

After ' delete interfaces interface eth1':
 # ifconfig eth1
eth1      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:0C:29:B1:E8:12
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
