 This type isn't used in any of the new scripts (and I don't think it was
 used in any of the old scripts either) and isn't really recommended for
 use.

 If we decide to go ahead and remove it, references will need to be removed
 from the scanner and parser, some BiFs, broccoli, and the broccoli
 bindings.  Anywhere else?
