 I think "stream" might be the correct term here since the written records
 are associated with the stream.  Fields could be removed by the filter,
 but knowing the stream would at least help to know what's being dealt with
 since there is no 1-to-1 mapping between file name and file content
 anywhere (files don't necessarily have their stream named prepended).
