 Hah, after doing a fresh merge, it now passes. I think what happened was
 that I merged with my local copy of the topic branch rather than the
 remote/origin/* version; and that one was not updated. Normally, I don't
 keep local copies of the branches, but here I did and I didn't notice I
 was merging from that one. Will do some more testing soon, and then
 commit.
