 Just a reminder/note: we should make sure to build against optional
 dependencies, which are currently libgeoip, libmagic, libz (I think we can
 skip google-perftools).  Current NMI builds don't look like they use
 libgeoip.  The "final release" binary packages should also be built
 against these dependencies.
