 The "bro-cut" script does not seem to work with the implementation
 of awk (mawk 1.3.3) on my system (ubuntu 11.04).  When I try to
 use "bro-cut" it fails with this not-so-helpful message:

 awk: line 52: illegal reference to array f
 awk: line 65: illegal reference to array columns
 awk: line 88: illegal reference to array columns
