 I'm reconsidering this one. I don't really like the bracketing in the
 *.log files, that seems hurts more (for inspection & postprocessing) than
 it helps. I tried to adapt just the ASCII writer to not bracket, but it
 then still prints  addresses with brackets which the script-layer already
 converts to string  (I believe); and now its getting inconsistent.

 Opinions?
