 brackets for consistency and that ipv6 addresses aren't exactly readable
 anyway.  I agree with Jon's points but I'm conflicted (and yet I still
 like the idea of leaving out the brackets).

 I think I'll switch it back to not adding brackets anywhere internally,
 adding them automatically only for conversion to string, but not when
 logging seems like it's just too confusing.  And since there's few cases
 where it's actually necessary, adding an `addr_to_uri` script-level
 function might be enough.
