Jon Siwek commented on BIT-1246:

This looked like an issue with Bro's TCP reassembly. Branch "topic/jsiwek/bit-1246" has a fix if you want to test. (That branch also includes the changes from BIT-1240, but those aren't strictly related/dependent, they just made testing/verification easier).

> Missing last TCP segment
> ------------------------
>                 Key: BIT-1246
>                 URL: https://bro-tracker.atlassian.net/browse/BIT-1246
>             Project: Bro Issue Tracker
>          Issue Type: Problem
>          Components: Bro
>    Affects Versions: git/master, 2.3
>         Environment: CentOS 6
>            Reporter: Jimmy Jones
>             Fix For: 2.4
>         Attachments: get-hole2.trace
> Possibly related to BIT-1240, I've got a sample (attached) where the penultimate TCP segment of the http response is missing.
> Using the file analysis framework I'm extracting the payload, but I don't get any of the last segment. Without the fix in BIT-1240 additionally the NULL padding for the missing packets happens in the wrong place.
> Used the following bro script:
> event file_new(f: fa_file)
> { Files::add_analyzer(f, Files::ANALYZER_EXTRACT, [$extract_filename=f$id]); }
