Would that mean that if you have two IOSources, broker and a pktsrc, that the broker IOSource would always be eligible for processing even if it didn't actually have anything to do (since stdin is put into the fd_set for writing, I think that most always triggers the select()) ?  That behavior doesn't seem quite right either.
