[Bro] Patch for gcc 3.4

I've made the attached changes locally to get bro to compile under gcc
3.4 with warnings turned all the way up.  I'm not suggesting that you
merge this patch directly into the code base, but it shows what areas
need to be addressed and will get bro to compile for anyone who just
wants to get it working.
