Hi Dominic -- do you have the devel RPM installed? The libtermcap.so is
likely the crucial bit, as will be the header:

christian at strangepork:/usr/lib > rpm -ql libtermcap-devel
/usr/include/termcap.h
/usr/lib/libtermcap.a
/usr/lib/libtermcap.so
/usr/share/info/termcap.info.gz

Regarding the other issue, please du as Jason + Vern suggest.
