As Jon said, let's check network things.

Could you confirm the ip/port used on your side ?

# netstat -an
Active Internet connections (including servers)
Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address          Foreign Address
(state)    
tcp4       0      0 10.0.1.1.47760         *.*                    LISTEN
