+ NOTES AND IMPORTANT LINKS +
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
We had 23 people attend this call. The agenda included 3 following:
ZEEK CALLS/WEBINARS
On this call we discussed the naming of Zeek From Home and Ask The
Zeeksperts as well as the frequency of these calls as it seemed the Zeek
>From Home name was a bit confusing. We also discussed which of these will
be “meeting” style vs. “webinar” format and which ones are recorded.
We also looked at what these calls could be used and did we need to change
anything about them. Based on the Feedback from the community call we need
to find a new name for the Zeek From Home Series and add more content
around use cases and panel discussions.
New Name suggestions include:
* Zeek Sync
* Zeek Speak
(If you have suggestions for other names for the Zeek From Home series
please add those to the webinar survey. Link Below)
For those who maybe unsure of the differences in the 3 types of calls below
are the descriptions:
* Zeek From Home (Webinar Format) - A weekly webinar presentation series
where Zeek users, developers and invited guests can present on Zeek related
topics. These presentations are recorded and shared with the community.
These webinars ARE recorded. You can find out more about Zeek From Home at:
https://zeek.org/2020/03/31/zeek-from-home/
* Ask The Zeeksperts (Meeting Format) - Is a bi-weekly webinar series where
Zeek users, developers and invited guests can answer technical questions
about adopting, implementing and using Zeek data. The community is invited
to “drop in” to these calls and ask your questions. These webinars are
NOT recorded (unless otherwise noted).
* Zeek Monthly Community Call (Meeting Format) - These are monthly calls
that are open to the community to discuss topics related to the growth,
governance and administration of the community. These calls are open to
the community and recorded.

FUTURE ZEEK PACKAGE CONTEST
We discussed what has worked and what hasn’t for the Zeek package contest
and summarized the feedback from the last call on how to improve the
contest going forward. The following is the format that everyone on the
past 2 community calls liked:
Participants (teams or individuals) could submit any Zeek Package, to
include parsers.
Phase I - Seek ideas for Zeek Packages
Phase II - Seek developes who would like to help with the ideas that have
been submitted
Phase III - Create teams (idea submitter(s)/developer(s)
Phase IV - Open contest for submissions
Phase V - Judging
Phase VI - Awarding Prizes and Announcing Winners

CHANGE IN ZEEK GOVERNANCE
The Zeek Project is an independent open source project that is governed by
volunteers from the Zeek Community. We are looking to document our process
and increase participation in the project.
Keith Lehigh, Chair of the Zeek Leadership Team (LT) presented on this
topic. Below is the link to his slides and the document he referenced in
his presentation.
