P.S. We also need to know exactly which Linux distribution, version, and 
kernel version you are using, when trying to address problems like this.

 Some distributions install optional kernel header files and userland 
wrapper libraries separately using a package system.

We recommend recent Ubuntu or Fedora as those are distributions which 
participants here are known to be using.
