How would this fit my experience, though?

Literally changing my command line from:

cvlc -vvv myvideo.mpg --sout
'#std{access=udp,mux=ts,dst=234.5.6.7:1234}' --ttl 10 --loop

to:

cvlc -vvv myvideo.mpg --sout
'#std{access=udp,mux=ts,dst=234.5.6.8:1234}' --ttl 10 --loop

triggers the problem.

Other than the small multicast address change nothing else is different,
so I'm not aware of any reason that VLC would unicast encapsulate the
traffic with one address and not the other.

Thanks,
Jeff
